Acai bowls are so yummy and easy to eat. Extremely versatile since you can play around with endless topping possibilities too! Here is a solid acai bowl recipe from Chelsea’s Messy Apron. Here is a wonderful take on a tropical acai bowl from A Couple Cooks!

Acai Bowl

I personally just used what I had to make minimal bowl but it’s been so long since I had an acai bowl that it was de-li-cious!!!

  • 1 frozen banana (sliced)
  • Splash of milk
  • A handful of frozen strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 packet of frozen acai puree (100g packet)

I recommend keeping a bowl in the freezer while you’re putting together the acai bowl; it melts pretty fast so putting it in a cold bowl will be helpful.

Use a blender to mix all of the ingredients until it’s a nice and smooth consistency. I feel like the frozen banana is key to making this delicious. The unsweetened acai packets alone are actually very bitter and tangy. The frozen banana adds a ton of sweetness without needing any sugar and the consistency will be more like ice cream.

I used Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Açaí Purée; it’s found in the frozen section with the rest of the frozen fruit (comes in a pack of 4 for under $5). I also saw good things said about Sambazon acai packets if you can find those.

I enjoyed my bowl topped with chia pudding and granola. Sooooo good!!!

Although these packets have zero sugar, just keep in mind all of these fruits have a ton of natural sugar. So if you’re okay with natural sugar you’re good to go; if you have to watch your sugar for dietary reasons, I’d be wary. I also saw that granola has a ton of sugar in it too unless you make your own. So be careful!

I’m sooo excited for the next time I can have another acai bowl. I won’t have to spend $10 for a bowl anymore (that’s what prevented me from eating these more often)!
