Cooking: Chicken Tikka Masala

{February 15, 2013} Kimchi: I tried this recipe. I didn’t have a can of tomato sauce…so I used a can of organic diced tomatoes instead. It kind of made the dish have a tomatoey sour-ish taste. I also didn’t have any heavy whipping cream *face palm* so I looked online for a substitute and did the 3/4 cup milk and 1/4 butter trick. These two changes probably made the dish taste very different. It was very buttery; you can tell from the greasy drippings in the picture. However, it still tasted good. I definitely will try this again with the proper ingredients.
I also never grill food…we never have propane and it seemed too much of a hassle for me to use it anyways. So I went with the suggestion of broiling the marinated chicken in the oven. Wow! I think even if you didn’t continue making the Tikka Masala, that marinated broiled chicken would still taste good and had a great Indian taste to it. Broiling it as opposed to using the grill is a great idea.
