{December 13, 2010} The recipe from YouTube’s Maangchi is tried & true and never fails me.
Maangchi’s recipe below with a few of my modifications. I usually double the recipe since everyone usually loves this dish!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound meat (I prefer pork tenderloin or chicken thighs)
- ¼ cup hot pepper paste (gochujang)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot pepper flakes (gochu-garu)
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 medium size onion, sliced
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- Medium-hi heat, cook garlic, onions, ginger.
- Add meat and cook until halfway cooked through.
- Add hot pepper paste, soy sauce, sugar, hot pepper flakes, black pepper, and sesame oil.
- Cook maybe another 10-15 min until thoroughly cooked and sauce has thickened.
- Serve with steamed rice and greens (lettuce or perilla leaves, etc)
